Chittagong city and district police in a series of drives detained 10 activists of BNP-Jamaat- Shibir from port city and three upazilas of the district on Thursday day night.
Naimul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special
Branch) of Chittagong district said police detained 10 activists in
overnight raids at various places of Sitakunda, lohagara and Satkania upazilas on Thursday night to prevent possible acts of sabotage during country-wide blockade and hartal enforced by BNP-led 20 party alliance.
CMP police also detained two hartal supporters from separate areas in the city today. Among the detainees, six were BNP
activists, 3 Islami Chhatra Shibir activists and one of Jamaat supporter, the police officer added.
