A total of 118 members of police have received prestigious police medals for their outstanding performance in the last one year.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed the awards to the recipients on the first day (Sunday) of Police Week-2020.
Fourteen of them received Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM-gallantry), 20 got President Police Medal (PPM-gallantry), 28 had Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM-Service) and 56 earned President Police
Medal (PPM-Service). Before handing over the police medals, Sheikh Hasina inspected a parade on the occasion.
Later, the Prime Minister inaugurated the six-day “Police Week-2020” at the Rajarbagh Police Lines grounds.
This year’s theme is “Mujib Barsher angikar police hobe janatar”.
