1174 spots fixed for slaughtering Eid animals in city

During the Holy Eid-ul-Azha, the two city corporations have taken preparation of sacrificial waste management for giving city residents a hazard-free environment.
Both Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) have planned to clean the cities’ waste within 48 hours of slaughtering.
The authorities have selected 1174 spots where some 5,00,000 cattle would be slaughtered during the Holy Eid-ul-Azha.
DSCC fixed 625 spots and DNCC 549 spots for slaughtering of sacrificial cattle and asked the dwellers to put the waste into the corporations’ vehicles if they slaughter elsewhere.
On the issue, Mayor Sayeed Khokon declared that they have taken the necessary preparation to remove the sacrificial waste within the time frame.
From the noon of the Eid day, along with regular staff of the DSCC, some 1,200 labourers will remain active for the cleaning operations.
The Chief Waste Management Officer of DSCC Md Safiqul Alam said everything will be done to maintain friendly environment.
The DNCC has 1998 regular cleaners and contractors’ 1075 cleaners to serve the northern part of the Dhaka City.  
The Chief Waste Management Officer of DNCC Abdur Razzaq also expressed hope to clean the city right after the slaughtering.
Both the city corporations have planned to clean the city within 48 hours and provide poly bags, bleaching compounds and wash those points with phenyl for keeping hygiene of the environment.
Corporations have also planned for cleaning the makeshift cattle markets accordingly from Eid day morning.
