1155 medical teams to monitor entry of healthy cattles in markets

Livestock Department has formed 1155 medical teams to monitor entrance of healthy cattle in the markets across the country. These teams will also work so that the buyers can peacefully collect the sacrificial animals, said Livestock Department CVO (Chief Veterinary Officer) Md. Abdul Halim.
He said, about 1.16 crore cattle have been ready for

sale in the cattle markets. Of them, the number of cows and buffaloes is 44.57 lakh and goat and sheeps are 71 lakh. Last year about 1.4 cattle were sacrificed.
Abdul Halim said, 1129 medical teams will work in districts and 26 teams in Dhaka. In capital each team will have one veterinary surgeon, one technical worker (VFA / ULA) and one Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Agricultural University’s Intern Veterinary Surgeon.
The medical teams will take care of the artificially fat cattle in the market. They will single out cattle which are dull, weak but fat, lethargic and disinterested in food cattle with uneven skin, eye-catching saliva, diarrhea, fever and flux.
