One hundred and 10 new books arrived on Thursday on the Amar Ekushey Book Fair premises
Of them, 18 were storybooks, 20 novels, nine essay books, 21 poems, two research, nine children literature, two biography, one on science, two on travel, and two on religious and 13 on other subjects.
The new books are Ekti Projapotir Mrittu by Abir Emon, Tomatae Koribo Bash by Kaniz Fatema Khushi, Jolpori of Pranprova by Ashraf Ahmed, Tumi Amar Chader Alo Shiuli Phota Raat by Faruque Newaz, Bokeyr Thotey Puti by Mahmud Ullah, Barshan Sikto Hospital by Obayed Akash and Maakey Money Porey by Fozila Islam Fowji.
A discussion on “Kazi Emdadul Haque: Ek Bsmito Monisha” was held on the main podium of the fair.
Syed Abul Maksud presided over the discussion while Rezina Sultana presented a keynote paper there.
Biswajit Ghosh, Manjurur Rahman and Farzana Siddika discussed the programme.
A fascinating cultural programme was held in the evening with the participation of hundreds people.
Discussion on “Hazi Mohammad Mohsin’ will be held today (Friday) in the main stage of the Fair on the 14th day.
Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique will preside over the programme while Amzad Hossain will present the keynote paper.
Wakil Ahmed, Partho Sen Gupta, Shantonu Kaiser and Abdul Basit will be present as the discussants.
