UNB, Dhaka :Coast Guard members arrested 11 alleged pirates along with local weapons and an engine boat from Laldia in Patharghata upazila in Barguna district on Monday.Acting on a tip-off, a special operation team of Coast Guard Station Patharghata under Bhola of Coast Guard South Zone conducted a drive at Laldia with the help of local people at about 8:45 am.The coast guard members arrested 11 pirates identified as Md Furkan, 37, Riaz Hawlader, 28, Nasir Hawlader, 35, Juhan Hawlader, 20, Jahirul, 20, Jakaria, 18, Mahbub, 18, Abdur Rajjak, 40, Manik, 38, and Siraj Khondker, 19.The coast guard members also recovered a number of local sharp weapons and an engine boat from their possessions. The arrestees were handed over to Patharghata police station.
