The national Vitamin A Plus campaign began across in the country on Wednesday aiming to feed vitamin A plus capsule to more than at least 2.20 cr Children aged between six to 59 months.
 The campaign will continue till Sunday under the arrangement of National Nitration Services of Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
 Civil Surgeon (CS ) Office and Family Planning Department observing the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign in 8 municipalities and 13 upazilas of Kishoreganj on Wednesday, will ensure proper health guidelines.
Around 4,99,717 lacks babies aged between six months and 59 months were fed vitamin A under the nation wide campaign.
 A total of 2744 centres were setup by the Civil Surgeon (CS) Office.
Civil Surgeon. (CS) in Kishoreganj dr. Saiful Islam said that, Vitamin A Increase disease resistant capacities of babies to ensure their normal growth, reduce death risks prevent night blindness less than one percent.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam inaugurating at Kishoreganj 250;– bed General Hospital on Wednesday, while CS Dr Saiful Islam presided over the programme.
Additional SP (Admin & Finance) Mustaque Sarker, Deputy Director( DD) in Kishoreganj General Hospital dr.Md.Helaluddin and DD in Family Planing Khairul Amin were attended as special guests.
DCS dr. Zahirul Talukder, CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito, District Press Club president Mostafa Kamal, Sr.Medical Officer (MO) Dr.Mahabubur Rahman and others dignified health officials were also present .
BSS from Bogura reports : The national Vitamin-A plus campaign started Wednesday in the district where children aged between six months and 59 months will be fed Vitamin A capsules under the campaign. A total of 4,80,480 children will be fed vitamin A plus capsule of the district, civil surgeon office sources said on Tuesday.
On the occasion, a press briefing was held at civil surgeon conference room this afternoon.
Civil surgeon Dr. Shafiul Azim presided over the meeting while Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Shahnaz Parveen, Sadar Upazila Family Planning Officer Dr. Samir Hossain Mishu, Medical Officers Dr. Farzanul Islam and Dr. Divakar Basak, among others, were present.
The Civil Surgeon delivered welcome speech narrating about the importance of providing Vitamin A Plus Capsule to every under five baby to prevent various diseases for healthier growth.
Vitamin A Plus capsule has no side effect and asked the parents not to become afraid and contact the health officials concerned if their babies would show vomiting tendency after taking the capsule.
The campaign will be opened at selected centres at 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and also the bus stands and floating places to bring all children under the programme. Civil Surgeon in his concluding speech called upon the parents, teachers, public representatives, civil society members and media persons to make the upcoming National Vitamin A Plus Campaign successful.
Under the programme, the health department adequate measures to provide vitamin-A capsule (blue color) of six months to 11 months aged to 56,617 children and vitamin-A capsule (red color) of 12months to 59 months aged to 4,23,863 children.
Some 5,612 field level health workers, volunteers and supervisors were engaged at 2,806 centres in the district to make the programme a success.

Officials and public representatives came up with the observation Wednesday at the inaugural ceremony of the four-day National Vitamin A Plus Campaign (first round)-2022 at City Bhaban premises in the city.
Panel Mayor of Rangpur Alhaj Mahmudur Rahman Tutu launched the campaign by administering Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Capsules to a number of under five babies on the occasion as the chief guest.
Chief Executive Officer of RpCC Md. Ruhul Amin Miah presided over the function.
Ruhul Amin Miah narrated the importance of continuation of Vitamin A supplementation for the under-five babies to strengthen their immune system and disease resistance capacity for their healthier growth.
He said 594 health workers and volunteers under supervision of 44 supervisors will provide Vitamin A Plus capsules to 1.29 lakh babies at 297 outreach centers in all 33 wards of the city from 8 am to 4 pm.
Around 20,000 babies (6-11 months) and 1,09,000 babies (12-59 months) will be administered with one dose of one lakh units of Vitamin A Plus Blue capsule and one dose of two lakh units of Vitamin A Red capsule each respectively.
“We are also administering Vitamin A capsules to under-five babies at the immunization center of RpCC, bus stands, rail stations and other places in the city abiding by the health directives amid the Covid-19 pandemic,” Miah added.
The panel mayor said Vitamin A Plus Capsule has no side effects in general and asked parents not to become afraid and contact the health officials concerned if their babies would show vomiting tendency after taking the capsule.
“Supplementation of Vitamin A also reduces 30 percent measles-related and 33 percent diarrhoea-related death risks of the under five babies,” he added.
