Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested 11 members of the banned Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from the city’s Abdullahpur area on Monday night.
The detained members are Arif Ibne Khayer alias Rifat, Md Babu Munsi alias Masud Rana, Md Khorshed Alam, Omar Faruk, Md Alhaj Mia, Md Helal Uddin, Abdul Based, Md Sujat, Azhar Ali, Md Forhad Hossain and Mizanur Rahman.
They also recovered books on Jihad and explosive materials during the drive at Abdullahpur under Uttara West Police Station of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
DMP Deputy Commissioner Monirul Islam said this in a press briefing at the DMP Media Centre on Tuesday morning.during primary interrogation confessed of conspiring to attack VVIP, VIP and different important infrastructure of the country.
A case in this connection was filed with Uttara West Police Station, he said.
