Eleven bus passengers were injured in a road accident in Shantirhat area under Patiya upazila on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway of the district on Friday.
Police said the accident occurred in the area at about 8am when a Cox’s Bazar-bound Saudia passenger bus fell into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering.
Locals and police rescued the wounded people and sent them to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital. Amir Hossain, Nayek of CMCH police outpost, said the condition of two of the wounded passengers was stated to be critical.
