Eleven foreigners, who were found roaming around Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar without permission, have been detained by a team of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
They were interupted near the Rohingya relief center adjacent to Ukhia Degree College around 11:30am on Friday. When law enforcers asked for their identification, they could not show necessary documents like passport, visa or work permit, reports our correspondent from Cox’s Bazar.
Major Ruhul Amin, Camp Commander of RAB-7 in Cox’s Bazar, told media that of the detainees, two are from UK, two are Italy and the rest seven are from Netherlands, Turkey, South Korea, Kenya, Brazil, Belgium and Norway.
They were handed over to Ukhia Police Station, said Major Ruhul Amin.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia Police Station Abul Khayer said, the detainees are involved with Médecines Sans Frontièrs/Doctors Without Borders (MSF), an international medical humanitarian organization.

The Cox’s Bazar district administration imposed restrictions in early October on entering the camps areas without prior permission.
