11 DU students get Zia Hall Provost Award

Seven meritorious students of Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded ‘Provost Award’ for their outstanding academic results in Honours and Masters examinations. Three other students have received this award for their extra curricular activities. One more student and Zia Hall Debating Club have been given this award for their social activities. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed these awards among the students as chief guest at a function held at the hall auditorium recently.
Provost of the hall Prof Dr Zia Rahman presided over the function while renowned economist Prof Dr Abul Barkat addressed it as award speaker. House Tutors of the hall Dr ATM Shamsuzzoha and Mahmudur Rahman, VP of the Hall Union Md. Shariful Islam Shakil, GS Hasibul Hossain Shanto and AGS Abdul Momin Abir also addressed the function.
The recipients of the award are- Moniruzzaman (Law), Md. Amzad Hossain (Public Administration), Abu Sufian (Political Science), Mohammad Sayeed Islam (Development Studies), Md. Sohanuzzaman (Bangla), Abu Salem (Philosophy), Md. Tanvir Habib (International Relations), Md. Ahsan Habib (Banking and Insurance), Kamrul Hasan Rana (Bangla), Md. Hasib Hasan (Philosophy) and Md. Zahirul Islam (Islamic History & Culture).
