Chittagong district police in night long drives detained 12 activists of BNP-Jamaat-Shibir from four upazilas of the district on Monday night.
Naimul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district said they were held in overnight raids in various places of Sitakunda, Bhujpur, Rangunia and Lohagara Upazilas Monday night.
Among the detainees, three were Jamaat activists,2 Islami Chhatra Shibir activists and 6 BNP activists, the police officer said adding that they were detained to prevent possible acts of sabotage ahead of shibir’s daylong hartal yesterday.
