The members of Detective Branch of police on Wednesday arrested 11 alleged members of a gang involved in question paper leak from Tejgaon, Satrasta area in separate drives in the city.
They also recovered some fake question papers of the ongoing Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations, including Chemistry (2nd paper), Accounting (1st paper), Zoology (2nd paper) and Physics.
Those who have been held are Saiful Islam alias Jewel, Rubel Bepari, Abdus Sattar, Mejbah Ahmed, Kawsar Hossain, Al Amin, Ikram Hossain and Jahangir.
Tipped off, a team of DB of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted drives near Satrasta crossing of Tejgaon Industrial area on Wednesday and arrested them, said Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Briefing reporters at DMP Media Centre on Thursday, Additional Commissioner of DMP Monirul Islam said the arrested people were involved in selling fake question papers to HSC candidates and their guardians.
