Staff Reporter :A team of Customs Intelligence seized 100 gold bars weighing 11.7 kg worth around Tk 5.6 crore from a flight at the city’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Monday, customs officials said. Customs Intelligence and Detective Department’s Assistant Commissioner (AC) Farid Al Mamun confirmed the matter and said that the customs officials raided ‘Flydubai Airlines’ at HSIA following a secret information around 10:30am. They searched the plane and found the gold bars under a seat.The customs official said that there was no arrest in this connection.Meanwhile, another team of Customs Intelligence conducted a drive at HSIA and seized 374 cartons of unclaimed foreign cigarettes worth around Tk 15 lakh, the customs official said.
