Customs officials on Tuesday seized 10 kilogrammes of gold bars worth around Tk five crore from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The gold bars were in two boxes of a courier service brought from Singapore by a flight on Monday night, said Othello Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Customs.
Upon information, customs officials seized the gold from in front of the gate of the courier service at the airport on Tuesday morning, he said.
The gold were sent to one Kamrul Islam in Dhaka without mentioning the specific address, according to him.
A case has been filed with the Airport Police Station in this connection.
