101 killed by lawmen in 6 months: ASK

Staff Reporter :Ain o Salish Kendra [ASK] on Tuesday said the law enforcement agencies have killed a total of 101 people in separate incidents including ‘crossfire’ in the country from January till June this year. Besides, 29 were victims of forced disappearance, 132 killed in political violence, 23 died in BSF firing, 34 in the jail and 69 breathed their last in mob beating during the aforesaid six months period.The ‘crossfire’ statistics of the last six months were prepared on the basis of reports published in the national dailies, and the information gathered by ASK. The organization also focused on some incidents of human rights violation. However, RAB denied the killings in their custody.ASK in their press release said according to the family members and relatives of the victims, the law enforcers picked up 29 persons from different parts of the country where four of them found dead. Apart from it, the incidents of rape have been increased and the death following rape rose at 30 at the same time. The law enforcement agencies, however, denied the allegations.
