In Ramgarh, Khagrachhari, 101 local needy families have received a cash grant of Tk 3,500 from the Bangladesh National Shomaj Kalyan Parishad. The grant money was officially distributed on Thursday at the initiative of the Upazila and City Social Services Department.
Ramgarh Upazila Executive Officer Mahmud Ullah Maruf presided over the grant distribution ceremony held at the Upazila Auditorium. Upazila Chairman Bishwa Pradeep Kumar Karbari was the chief guest. Special guests were Upazila Mahila Vice Chairman Hasina Begum, Ramgarh UP Chairman Shah Alam Majumder, Patachhara UP Chairman Monindra Tripura. Among others, Upazila Social Service Officer Azizur Rahman Anjum and City Social Service Officer Md. Anwar Hossain spoke.
Of the 101 distressed families, Six are from two unions of the upazila and 33 are from the municipality.
