10,000 palm trees to be planted at Majhgram railway station

A palm tree planting program has been inaugurated at Majhgram railway station on Thursday afternoon to protect people from lightning to increase their safety. The program was organized by the Railway Pakshi Division on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Railway Pakshi Divisional Manager Md. Shahidul Islam spoke as the chief guest. Railway Pakshi Divisional Engineer / 2 Abdur Rahim presided over the function while Railway Pakshi Divisional Commercial Officer Nasir Uddin spoke.
Other officials of Railway Pakshi Department, President of Ishwardi Upazila Press Club Touhid Akter Panna and journalists of different media were also present. It is to be mentioned that 10,000 palm saplings will be planted in phases within 71 km from Majhgram station to Dhalar Char, said the railway authorities.
