A total of 10 thousand nurses will be appointed in the public hospitals and health care centres across the country.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim disclosed it while he was exchanging views with the Civil Surgeons and health officials of Chittagong Division at Chittagong Circuit House on Wednesday afternoon.
He said that necessary action will be taken against those physicians who will not stay in villages for minimum two years.
The Minister said that the physicians of the 33rd BCS Cadre have already been posted to rural hospitals to provide medical treatment to the village people free of cost.
The Health Minister further said that academic activities of the Chittagong Medical University would begin very soon.
