‘10,000 nurses to be appointed by Sept’

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim on Monday said the government would appoint 10,000 nurses within September this year for development of the health sector.
“10,000 nurses appointment process will be completed by September of the current year,” he said while meeting with Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu at the conference room of industries ministry.
Nasim also said the government has taken various initiatives including turning the Jhalokati Sadar Hospital into 250 bed hospital and establishing a nursing college for providing better health service to the people.
He asked the officials to use the government assets properly for ensuring better health service and advised the high officials to accelerate regular inspection and monitoring activities of hospitals for increasing standard of health service.
Amir Hossain Amu underscored the need for building a healthy and brilliant nation to achieve the targets of becoming a middle income country by 2021 and developed country by 2041.
He sought assistance of the health minister to develop the health service in Jhalokati district.
During the meeting, Senior Secretary of Industries Ministry M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Health and Family Welfare Secretary Syed Monjurul Islam, among others, were present.
