Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 1,000 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from Raghunathpur border area here on Sunday morning.
BGB-26 commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Jahangir Hossain said on secret information, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area at about 7:30 am.
Sensing presence of the BGB men, the smugglers fled the scene leaving behind the contraband drugs.
Later, the border force recovered the Phensidyl syrup from the spot.
The estimated market value of the recovered Phensidyl is Tk5 lakh, Lt Col Jahangir added.
