Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the government has taken a project to set up technical schools in 100 upazilas of the country. “Under the plan, the ECNEC on January 19 this year approved a project to set up a technical school in each of 100 upazilas in the first phase,” he said this on Thursday while replying to a question from treasury bench member Md Ayen Uddin in parliament. “The work on the project begins soon,” Nahid said adding, “the government has also a plan to establish technical school in rest of the upazilas and a woman technical school and college in every division.” Responding to another question raised by Awami League lawmaker Nizam Uddin Hazary, the education minister said training through creative method was given to 4,53,863 teachers from different schools, colleges and madhrasas under Secondary Education Sector Development Projector (SESDP).
