A case was filed against 100 people in connection with Friday’s arson attack on a bus in Gaibandha district that left seven people dead and 30 others injured.
Mahbubur Rahman, a sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station, filed the case against 86 identified people and 14 unidentified ones with the police station on Saturday morning.
However, police in a drive arrested 10 people for their suspected involvement in the incident this morning.
Miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Napu Paribahan’ carrying 50 day labourers under police escort in Tulshighat area of the upazila on Friday night, leaving three people dead on the spot and 30 others injured. Among the injured, one died on the way to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Later, three people, including a woman and her son, succumbed to their injuries at the same hospital on Saturday. Meanwhile, police arrested 14 other people from different parts of the district for their suspected involvement in subversive activities on Sunday.
