State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Thursday said the government has been working relentlessly to bring all citizens under 100 percent electricity coverage by this year.
“We will supply electricity to off grid areas through solar power so that all people would get power by this year,” he told this, while replying to a supplementary question from treasury bench member Feroza Begum Chinu in the Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday.
The state minister said the government has provided 18 lakh electricity connections across the country during the current fiscal, adding, “The power division of the ministry has undertaken various initiatives to prevent illegal power connection along with ensuring more modernized electricity service.”
