The Election Commission (EC) on Sunday announced the election schedule of 100 municipalities and union parishads on March 29.
Of these, 34 are union parishads, 53 union parishad wards by-election, four municipals general election, 1 municipal mayor election, 4 municipal word councillor by-election.
Besides, by election of two councillor posts in Chittagong and Khulna City Corporations and two upazila chairmen election will be held as per the schedule.

He also informed that the nomination papers submission date is March 1, scrutinization of the nomination papers March 4, withdrawal of nomination papers March 12, candidates’ symbol allocation March13 and election on March 29.
To a question, Helal Uddin Ahmad said, election commission is going well ahead of its roadmap, it would not be changed.
“We are sitting in discussing with various groups, to hold the poll peacefully in time,” he said.
