Amidst great carnival atmosphere, the 100-ball Masters Cricket Carnival (MCC), a tournament for former cricketers, began on Wednesday at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar with two matches were decided on the opening day.
In the day’s first match, Rajshahi Masters were scheduled to play against Sylhet Sixers at ground no. 1 while Khulna Masters were scheduled to meet with Dhaka Masters at ground no.2 in the day’s other match.
Five franchise-based teams – Beximco Dhaka Masters, Air Asia Rajshahi Masters, Raw Nation Khulna Masters, Amber Chattogram Masters and Sylhet Masters Sixers-are participating in the four-day competition.
Each match will be a 100-ball affair, in where the last over will be a 10-ball over. Every team will play against every team in the league phase, from where top two teams will cruise to the final, which will be played at the same ground on May 5.
Powered by Scan Cement, private satellite channel ‘Channel i’ will telecast live all matches of the competition.
