Staff Reporter :Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in separate drives, detained seven suspected dacoits and carjackers in the city’s Mohammadpur area early Saturday.The arrested men are: Mizan Mia, Ajharul Islam, Ismail, Majnu Mia, Abdur Rashid, Tariqul and Abdul Halim.They also recovered seven stolen vehicles, arms and bullets from their possessions. The seven vehicles, including two private cars, two microbuses, two mini trucks and a CNG-run auto rickshaw, RAB official said.Lieutenant Colonel Mohiuddin, Commanding Officer of RAB-2, said “A team of RAB raided a microbus at Beribadh area in Mohammadpur around 3:00am and arrested Mizan, Ajharul and Ismail along with a foreign pistol, a magazine, and two round of bullets.”Following their information, the elite force members arrested other members from Gazani Road and Dhaka Uddayan areas with a private car, a pick-up van and a mini truck, the RAB official said. They committed different crimes including car stealing, abduction and snatching, he said. Meanwhile, RAB also in another drive arrested three auto-rickshaw hijackers from Mohammadpur on Friday night. They are Saidur Rahman Rubel, Shariful Islam Sentu and Bachhu Mollah.
