At least 10 more persons including a University student and NGO officer were killed and many others critically injured in separate road crashes across the country on Wednesday.
In Dhaka, at least three persons including a student of North South University were killed in separate road accidents in the capital.
At Gulshan, a student of NSU named Sakib Chowdhury, 23, was killed when he lost control on the steering of the private car he was driving and hit an electric pole while giving side to a truck in Nodda area around 2:00am last night.
Abu Bakar Siddiq, Officer-in-Charge of Gulshan Police Station said.
At Bangshal, a helper of a covered van named Abdur Rahman, 40, was crushed under the wheels of a sand-laden truck in Alubazar area of the city around 4:00am. Bacchu Miah, Inspector of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police outpost said.
At Aminbazar, a pick-up van driver named Mainuddin, 30, was killed in a road crash on the Mirpur-bound van when overturned in Bhanga Bridge area of Aminbazar on Wednesday noon.
In Manikganj, at least two persons including a female were killed and three others injured in separate road crashes of the district on Wednesday.
At Shivalaya upazila, an old man was killed when a private car rammed him in Megafid area under Shivalaya upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Sajibur Rahman, 70, a worker of Mega Feed Limited. He lived at Teota village.
Another female named Bedena Begum, 48, was killed when a covered van hit her at the upazila bus stand last night.
Boronggail Highway Police Outpost in-charge Yamin-ud-Daula told the news media.
In Naraynganj, a NGO Officer named Monjur Majed, 32, was killed when a covered van hit him at Voigar under Fatullah Police Station of the district.
The accident took place around 7 am.
The deceased was the son of one Abdul Majid from Munshiganj.
Fatullah Model Police Officer in-Charge Manjur Kader said it to the news media.
In Sylhet, a youth named Jahid Hossain, 30, was killed in a road crash when private car overturned in Goyaingat upazila of the district on Wednesday noon.
