10 more killed in road crashes

At least 10 more persons, including an SSC examinee were killed and several others seriously injured in separate road crashes across the country on Wednesday.

In Lalmonirhat, At least five more persons were killed when a bus rammed an auto-rickshaw at Barobari union under Sadar upazila of the district.
The deceased were identified as Akkel Ali, 55, his grandson Ashik Islam, 18, Mahbubul Haque, 45, Shahana Begum and Shuruj Ali, Mahfuz Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station, said the accident occurred around 10 pm when the Dhaka-bound bus struck the auto-rickshaw, carrying five people, leaving all of them dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to a local hospital.
In Dhaka (Savar) at least two persons including a college student were killed in separate road crashes in Asuliya of Saver on Wednesday.
Local sources said that in the Morning, a college student named Al Tahsin, 18, was killed on the Nabinagar-Chandra Highway when a truck hit him and another RMG worker named Samir Mollah was killed when a passenger bus rammed him on the the said road around 2pm.
Jahidul Islam, Officer in Charge (OC) of Savar Highway Police told it.
In Natore, a motorcyclist named Abdul Bari, 50, was killed and another was injured when a van rammed them on the Bonpara-Hatikumrol highway at 11 am on Wednesday.
Anowar Hossain, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bonpara Police said.
In Barguna, An examinee of SSC was killed in a road accident when local vehicle named Tomtom hit him in Patharghata upazila of the district.

The deceased identified as Md Sabbir, 16, took part in this year’s SSC examination from Saptagram High School and College.
Patharghata Police Station Officer in-Charge (OC) Md Hanif Sikder confirmed the news.
In Jhenaidah, a pedestrian named Liyakat Hossain, 55, was killed when truck rammed him in sadar upazila of the district.
Mizanur Rahman Khan, Officer in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station said.
