10 more killed in road accidents

At least 10 more people were killed and 30 others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Saturday.
In Gaibandha, five passengers were killed and 15 others critically injured when a passenger bus overturned at Jummar Ghar village in Gobindaganj upazila of the district early Saturday.
The accident took place on the Rangpur- Dhaka-highway around 3 am.
The deceased were identified as Bidut Miah,32, son of Shorab Ali, Mahbub Alam,22, son of Mohson Ali, Riaz Uddin,20, son of Abdul Mannan, Sonil Sarker,45, son of Bhupon Sarker and Bikash Sarkar Saha, 45, son of Bholanath Saha.
On information, police and fire service personnel launched the rescue operation.
Confirming the deaths, Momirul Islam, Sub-Inspector of Gobindaganj Police Station, told media that the injured were hospitalized.
Mehedi Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Gobindaganj police station told media that the bus lost control and plunged into a roadside ditch causing the deaths.
In Phirojpur, an auto bike passenger named Rafique Sheikh, 45, was killed and seven more persons were seriously injured when a bus rammed the vehicle in Bollessor of the district. Nurul Alam, Officer in Charge of Phirojpur Sadar Police station confirmed the deaths.
In Pabna, a housewife named Zarina Khatun, 35, was killed when a mini-truck hit her from behind at Sahapur area under Ishwardhy upazila of the district.
Bahuddin Faroque, Officer in Charge (OC) of Ishwardhy Police confirmed the incident.
In Natore, a man named Rahbul Islam, 44, was killed when a truck hit him on the Natore-Pabna Highway on Saturday morning.
Mozzamel Hossain, Sub Inspector of Jolmoliya Highway police confirmed the death.
In Netrokona, a youth named Emon Miah, 14, was killed when a mini-truck rammed him at Keronkhola village under Durghapur upazila of the district.
