Ten members of hijacking group were detained by detective branch police of Chattogram from city and district areas after vigorous searching against the pilferage of imported consignments from the covered van on way to their desired destination from port sheds. In two days drive in the city , police managed to round up them from different areas, said Additional Police commissioner AAM Humayun Kabir. The detained snatching gang members are Md. Salahuddin, Abdul Mannan, Md. Rashed, Md.Santo, Md. Nazrul, Abu sufian, Md.Faruk, Md. Alamgir Liton, Pankaj Das and Sajal Dev. DB police sources said a strong gang of hijacking those involved in snatching goods from covered van during transportation of import consignments from port to importers destinations.
Police said following the allegations so filed by M/s Goodluck Transport company of snatching goods from covered van , police instantly detained Salahuddin and Abdul Mannan and following t heir confessions, others were rounded up immediately.
