10 JU students get 2nd phase NEF stipend

A total of ten female students of Environmental
Science department and Microbiology department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Monday received the second phase stipend of Nagao Natural Environmental Foundation (NEF), Japan.
JU Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Farzana Islam distributed the stipend
money among the students at a function at the council room on the campus, a university press release said.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Farzana said any kind of scholarship is a great honor and recognition of excellence. She hoped that the awardees will further excel in their lives by participating in various academic and research activities.
JU Treasurer Professor Dr Abul Khair, Dean of Biological Sciences faculty Professor Dr Abdul Zabber Hawlader, Dean of Law faculty Professor Dr Sheikh Majurul Haque and Professor of Environmental Science department Dr Khabir Uddin and Syed Hafizur Rahman were present at the function, among others, the release added.
The NEF is a non-governmental organization of Japan dedicated to promoting nature conservation and supports undergraduate students in developing countries in Asia.
