A total of 10 female students of Jahangirnagar University (JU), who were awarded Prime Minister Gold Medal for the years 2013 and 2014, met with JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Farzana Islam on Monday at her office on the campus.
The awardees included Tanjina Akhter and Rukeya Akhter Suravi of Microbiology department, Jesmin Nahar Jumur of Archaeology department, Sharmin Yousuf Rikta of Environmental Science department, Syeda Sumaiya Habib of Economics department, Sadifa Sultana of Marketing department, Asma Ahmed of Finance and Banking department, Fatema Tuz Johra of International Relations department, Zakiya Hossain Duty of Public Administration department and Sumaiya Khan of Chemistry department.
Professor Farzana Islam congratulated them for their academic successes and urged them to utilize their knowledge in ensuring social welfare.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the gold medals to them at a function on March 22 in the city.
