10 JU female students get NEF scholarship

At least 10 female students of Jahangirangar University (JU) have got Japanese Nagao Natural Environmental Foundation (NEF) first grade scholarship for this year; while yesterday (Monday) JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam handed over the awards with stipends money of 6 months to the students at the University administrative office.
While addressing on the scholarship distribution programme Prof Farzana thanked the NEF authority for offering such opportunity for JU students and she mentioned the Japanese government as a genuine friend of Bangladesh.
On the programme, JU Pro-VC Prof Abul Hossain, Treasurer Prof Abul Khair, Dean of Law institute Prof Manjurul Haque, Prof Khabir Uddin of Evironmental Sciences department, Chairman of Microbiology department Prof Ali Azam Talukder were present among others.
A selection committee headed by Prof Khabir nominated the students and later NEF approved them.
Mentionable that, NEF is a non-governmental organization of Japan and working for promoting natural conservation mostly in developing countries.
