Ten Jashore- based journalists New Age’s Jessore Correspondent Saifur Rahman Saif, Aminur Rahman Mamun of Desh TV, Milon Rahman of Jaijaidin, Indrajit Roy of Daily Jagantor, Tabibar Rahman of Alakita Bangladesh, Pranab Das of Protidiner Katha, BM Faruk of RTV, Mina Biswas and Swapna Debnath of Gramer Kagoj and Kazi Shahjahan Sabuj of Daily Ittefaq were given award on reporting on religious tolerance by the News Network, a non government organization works for the development of journalism supported by Canadian government.
They were handed over the awards at a function held at Jashore Press Club on Wednesday.
Abdul Awal, deputy commissioner, Jashore, handed over the awards as the chief guest in presence of Jahid Hasan Tukun, president, Jashore Press Club, Farazi Ahmed Syeed Bulbul, coordinator, News Network, Jashore, Rukunuddaullah, special correspondent, Daily Sangbad and Mobinul Islam Mobin, editor, Daily Gramer Kagoj.
