10 hurt: Hall closed BCL factions clash at DMCH

Staff Reporter :The Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) administration has closed Fazley Rabbi Hall following the clash between the two groups of students of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL). The students were asked to vacate the hall within 6pm on Thursday.The decision came at an emergency meeting of the college in the evening, DMCH Principal Dr Md Ismail Khan told The New Nation.He said that the decision was taken to avert untoward incident in the hall again. Eyewitnesses said that the clash between two groups of BCL, student wing of ruling Awami League, took place at about 4pm over establishing supremacy in the hall. The groups led by Humayun Islam Sumon, President of the hall unit, and Fahad Bin Kabir, General Secretary of the same unit, used iron rods, sticks and other native equipment. At least 10 students were injured in the incident. The name of the injured students could not be identified immediately. They all were sent to DMCH for treatment.
