A mobile court here on Tuesday night sentenced six fake doctors to one year’s imprisonment each and another four to six moths each in the upazila.
The convicts were identified as Abu Toaib Sumon, Anisuzzaman, Nawab Mia, Shamsul Haque, Monira Begum, M A Malek, Abul Kalam, Monir Hossain, Shahinur Alam and Abdul Aziz Khan.
Sources at RAB-4 said they had secret information
from their detectives that some fake doctors had been giving treatment to patients impersonating themselves as registered physicians in Savar bus stand and nearby areas since long.
A team of RAB-4 led by its executive magistrate Al Amin conducted raids in different pharmacies and clinics in Savar bus stand and nearby areas at night and arrested the 10 fake doctors.
They were produced before the court of executive magistrate Al Amin who handed down the verdict.
