A total of 10 meritorious students of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) of Dhaka University (DU) on Monday were awarded ‘Professor Sitara Parvin Award’ for their outstanding academic results in Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) Examination of 2017.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman handed over the scholarships among the awardees as the chief guest at a function held at the Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury auditorium of Social Science Building of the university.
The awardees are: Ragib Rahman, Sanjoy Basak Partha, Farzana Tasnim Pinky, Jakia Jahan Mukta, Md Shamim Hossain, Wahida Jaman Shithi, Siyeduzzaman Shohag, Zinat Sharmin, Dayed Hasan and Durjoy Chakraborty. Prominent cultural personality Ramendu Majumdar delivered “Sitara Parvin Memorial Lecture’ on the occasion.
Chairman of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism Prof. Dr Kaberi Gayen presided over the function while Prof. Dr. Ahaduzzaman Mohammad Ali gave vote of thanks.
