The BSTI submitted the list in response to the court’s directive to inform it by February 24 about what action was taken against the five companies for marketing unsafe drinking water.
The bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil after hearing a public interest litigation writ petition of Supreme Court lawyer Shammi Akther directed BSTI to test the bottled water sold across the country and submit the findings.
The bench has also instructed Bangladesh Food Safety Authority to submit a report on what actions they have taken for food adulteration.
