Chittagong district police in night- long drives detained 10 activists of BNP-Jamaat-Shibir from three upazilas of the district on Tuesday night.
Naimul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district said they were detained in overnight raids in various places of Sitakunda, Satkhania and Lohagara Upazilas on Tuesday night and yesterday morning.
Among the detainees, three were Jamaat activists, four Islami Chhatra Shibir activists and three BNP activists, the police officer said adding that they were detained to prevent possible acts of sabotage during country-wide blockade and hartal enforced by BNP-led 20 party alliance.
