10 Bangladeshis’ shows to be held in Australia

Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts in 
support with Bangladesh High Commission in Australia, Australia Bangladesh Cultural Exchange Inc (ABCx) and Anandapath, Tangail is going to arrange three group 
exhibitions of 10 noted Bangladeshi artists in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra in Australia from March 22. The exhibitions are scheduled to be held under the banner of ‘Songs of the Land.’ Its first exhibition will be inaugurated at the Alliance Francaise Gallery in 
Melbourne on March 22. 
Chairman of the National Gallery of Australia Allan Myers will 
inaugurate the exhibition 
as the chief guest. 
Meanwhile, Chancellor of 
Southern Cross University and President of Actionaid Australia John Dowd will inaugurate the next show at Queen Street Gallery in Sydney on March 29. 
Later the last exhibition will be inaugurated by Bangladesh High Commissioner in Australia Lt Gen (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury at Ann Harding Conference Centre of the University of Canberra on April 1.
Artworks of Qayyum 
Chowdhury, Tahera Khanam, Rafiqun Nabi, Monirul Islam, Abdus Shakoor Shah, Farida Zaman, Ranjit Das, Rokeya 
Sultana, Kanakchapa Chakma and Mohammad Iqbal will put on 
display in three exhibitions.
This was announced at a press conference held at Bengal Shilpalaya café in the city’s 
Dhanmondi area yesterday where Director of Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts Subir Chowdhury, artist Qayyum Chowdhury, artist 
Monirul Islam, among others, spoke on the  
occasion. Later a press review on the exhibitions was also held.
