Staff Reporter :Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive on Monday evening arrested 10 persons from a house in the city’s Tejturipara area. The arrested persons reportedly abducted a businessman four days ago.They also rescued the victim, Zahirul Islam, 28, from the same house. The abductors also repeatedly demanded Tk 15,00,000 as ransom over mobile phone from the victim’s family, RAB official said. They arrested people are Ismail Hossain Sheikh, 27, Md Maksud, 22, Zahirul Islam, 20, Md Arif, 20, Md Bahauddin, 26, Milon Hossain, 15, Md Arman, 21, Md Shariful, 19, Tofael Hossain, 28, and Khairul Islam. Maruf Ahmed, Operation Officer of RAB-2, said that a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the house at Tejturipara following an allegation of the victim’s family in the evening and arrested them. The RAB men also rescued the victim from a room which was under lock and key. He was abducted on Friday, the RAB official said.RAB team has also recovered 15 mobile phone sets from their possession. A case was filed with the Tejgaon Police station in this connection on Tuesday, he said.
