Total 14,001 persons in 30 wards of Barishal City Corporation and 86,468 persons in the district will get old age allowances worth Tk 6000 per head annually.
These facts were disclosed during distributing old age allowance books among 698 senior citizens of 11 wards of the city at Nabogram Road Chowmatha area of the city on Monday noon.
Serniabad Sadik Abdullah, BCC Mayor, was chief guest of the programme jointly organized by BCC and Social Services directorate.
Among others Gazi Naimul Hasan Litu, Rafikul Islam Khokon, Ayesha Tawhida Luna, panel mayors of BCC were special guests of the programme.
141 patients under treatment at SBMCH
Numbers of dengue infected patients decreasing in Barishal and 141 dengue infected patients were under treatment on Monday at Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Dr. Bakir Hossain, director SBMCH, giving this information added that on Monday 30 dengue infected patients including 10 male, 16 female and 4 children were released from SBMCH after treatment.
From July 16 to September 2, 2019 total 2411 dengue infected patients were identified and among them 1932 released after treatment, 7 died and 479 treated at outdoor of the hospital, the director SBMCH added.
