A man was burnt to death when a fire broke out in a poultry firm at village Makarampotti of Bhanga upazilla of the district yesterday. The deceased was identified as Motaleb Fakir,54, caretaker of the firm.
Sribas Baroi, in-charge of Bhanga Fire Service, said the fire originated from an electronic short circuit at the poultry firm while Motaleb was sleeping inside.
Quoting the owner of the poultry farm Abdus Salam Matubbar, the fire station sources said the fire caused the death of seven hundred chicks and killed a man. It also destroyed the farm infrastructure causing loss of Taka 12 lakh.
