A team of the Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested a man with a large number of chocolate bombs from a Dhaka-bound train Nilsagor Express at Joydevpur Railway Station on Thursday.
The arrested person was identified as Khurshed, 28, an inhabitant of Parbatipur in Dinajpur. He was brought to the city’s Kamalapur Railway Station for interrogation in the ‘suspected link with the BNP called movement after the Eid’, the GRP police said.
Quoting the witnesses, the Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Majid confirmed the matter and said that the seized chocolate bombs were being brought in the capital to conduct subversive acts. Primarily we suspect that those might have been used during BNP called movement after the Eid.
He will be taken to remand through court order for further interrogation, the OC added.
Majid said that the detained Khurshed is being interrogated in Kamalapur Police custody.
