Customs officials at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport arrested a young man along with 370,000 Saudi Riyal worth about Tk 81 lakh on Monday night.
The arrestee was identified as Md Monir Hossain, 24, hailing from Shariatpur.
Tipped off that Monir was going to Singapore with illegally transacted 3.70 lakh Saudi Riyal, a team of the customs challenged him when he entered the airport through gate No.6.
Later, the currency was recovered searching his body and luggage, said Joint Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House Sohel Rahman.
He said Monir was scheduled to fly for Singapore at 8:40 pm by a Tiger Airlines flight.
Earlier on Sunday night, customs intelligence officials in a drive held a man with 70,000 Saudi Riyal at the same airport. He was scheduled to go to Kuala Lumpur.
