Customs officials arrested a man along with 1.605 kg of gold worth Tk 80.25 lakh at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here on Monday night.
The arrestee was identified as MH Shibly, 40, who landed at the airport around 9:55pm from a Tiger Airlines flight that came from Singapore.
Assistant commissioner (Customs) of the airport Shahiduzzaman said they challenged Shibly while he was crossing the green
channel and recovered 15 gold bars, weighing 100 gram each, and 15 gold chains after searching his body.
