UNB, Dinajpur :
An old woman died and two others fell sick after taking drink prepared with Isabgol (a kind of herbal powder) in the district town on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Dilara Jahan, 65, wife of Abdul Zabed of Uttar Kanchan Colony of the district town, while the sick were Julekha Begum, 60, and Moyna, 40.
Both Julekha and Moyna live in a rented house of Dilara.
Sources said Dilara and her two tenants-Julekha and Moyna-felt sick in the morning after taking drinks made of Isabgol.
Later, the three women were admitted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Dilara dead.
Officer-in-charge of Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station Altaf Hossain said a police team was sent to the spot after hearing the incident.
