CU admission test begins tomorrow: 1.36 lakh to vie for 4924 seats, train operation rescheduled

The admission test for the first year honors courses under the academic sessions 2018-19 of Chittagong University will begin tomorrow through holding the B unit admission test.
 A total of 136247 students have applied for four units and 31790 students apply for 1221 seats under ‘B’ unit which scheduled to be held at 9.45 am tomorrow where around 26 students would fight for each seat.
 The secretary of admission affairs committee and deputy register SM AkberHossain confirmed to the correspondent that a total of 1 lakh 36247 students across the country will vie for a seat in the test against 4926 seats under 4 units . Around 28 students will vie for one seat in this year.
This year, the entrance test will be held in shift wise. The first and the second shift examination will start on 9.45 am and 2.15 pm respectively. All outer centers like previous year have been abolished and all examinations will held in the university`s centers.
 The university authorities have taken precautionary measures to prevent question leakage and forgery in the test.
 Law enforcing members and mobile court will be deployed on the university campus and outer centers to avoid any kind of disruption and fraud. The law enforcement agencies were given necessary instructions to stay alert on the campus to avert any untoward situation for the sake of holding the test in a free and fair way.
The university authority has issued an embargo on setting up ‘help desk’ of any organizations. At the same time, embargo also imposed on buying guide book and taking preparatory exam from the admission seekers staying residential hall.
CU Proctor Ali Asgar Chowdhury told The New Nation that all-out security measures have been taken to complete the admission test in a peaceful environment. Electronic devices and memory attached watch will not be allowed in the examination hall and the students have to keep unveil their ear. “The student originations also called upon not to hold any political activities in the campus during admission test.” he also added
Meanwhile, the shuttle train operation has been rescheduled for easing the transport during the admission test.
The first train would head from port city`s Battal Station to the university station at 6 am and the latter train schedule is 6.30 am ,8.15 am ,8.45 am ,9,15 am (Demo Train) 11.40 am,12 .00 pm,1.50 pm (Demo Train) ,3.00 pm,4,00 pm,8.30 pm respectively.
On the other hand ,the train will leave from campus to city at 7.05 am, 7.35 am ,9.20 am,10.00am,10.30 am (Demo train), 1.00 pm,1.30 pm,3.00 pm(Demo), 5.00 pm, 5.30 pm, and 9.30 pm.
The admission test will be held in the CU campus only.
In this connection, the management of CU has taken all-out preparations for holding the test peacefully and properly.
The Chattogram University administration sat in a meeting with Chattogram district administration, District Police, RAB, Power Development Board, Roads and Highways and the Railway autorities. All the highways linking the CU will clear of extra shops and installation from both sides of Chattogram -Hathazari road, Dhaka-Ctg highway from Mirsarai to Chittagong etc. on the dates of admission tests.
