Around 1,12,558 cases were filed against different categories vehicles for violation of traffic rules during the 19-day long ‘Traffic Discipline Fortnightly’ program in the capital.
The traffic division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) coordinated drives all over the city from January 15 to February 2.
The authorities also dumped 471 cars and 14,157 others put on the wrecker during the operation against rules vilations, said an official release on Sunday.
According to another
DMP sources, most of the cases were lodged for driving on the wrong side of the road, using hydraulic horns, using hooter beacon lamps, and using tinted glass.
A total number of 24,336 cases were filed against buses and mini muses, 835 against trucks, 3,126 against Covered Van, 14,749 against auto-rickshaws, 28 against taxi-cab, 11,195 against private cars and jeeps, 2,768 against micro-bus, 4,916 against pick-up van, 308 against human haullers, 47,522 against motorcycles, and 2,777 against others vehicles.
